About this course

A self-paced course for adults who want fewer misunderstandings and safer ways to handle conflict. In 64 lessons you will learn to make clear requests, listen and check understanding, set limits without threats, negotiate fair agreements, step away from a situation that is turning dangerous, and support someone after harm. Every lesson has worked examples, a short written exercise and a self-check, and each module ends with a quiz. Plan on about 30 minutes per lesson. All people and situations in the examples are invented. This course teaches communication skills. It is not legal advice, therapy, or physical self-defense training.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how language, perception, context and feedback shape communication.
  • Listen accurately, ask useful questions and communicate needs and boundaries clearly.
  • Assess conflict, negotiate fair options and select appropriate de-escalation responses.
  • Use noncontact positioning and safe disengagement when an interaction becomes unsafe.
  • Support recovery and accountability after harm without removing a person's choices.
