About this course

For apprentices and assistants who are starting to help with and lead kids and adult classes at Cloud Forest. You will learn what assistants do and do not do, how people learn movement, how to correct and cue, how to run a safe class, concussion and heat illness awareness, emergency and incident basics, teaching children, safeguarding and North Carolina's duty to report suspected child abuse, lesson planning, adapting for different students and handling disruption. The course ends with a 20-minute segment you plan, teach under the head instructor's supervision and review. It teaches how to teach, not what to teach: techniques, forms and rank requirements come from your instructors. It does not confer rank, instructor standing, or CPR or first aid certification. About 15 hours.
