The art

The Ip Man lineage, taught in Greensboro

Wing Chun is a close-range Chinese boxing system built on the centerline, simultaneous attack and defense, and sensitivity trained through chi sao, sticking hands. The three empty-hand forms, the wooden dummy, and the pole and knives make up the full curriculum.

Where it comes from

Sifu Kristian Gordon teaches traditional Wing Chun in the Samuel Kwok and Ip Man lineage, the same line that produced Bruce Lee. The class runs as a partner program on Tuesday evenings.

What it does for you

Efficient self-defense

Short, direct, no wasted motion. Wing Chun works for smaller people.

Sensitivity

Chi sao teaches you to feel an attack before you see it.

Precision

A two-hour block gives time to drill details properly.

The wooden dummy

Train on the same apparatus you have seen in every Ip Man film.

What a class looks like

Siu Nim Tao to warm up, basics on the centerline, chi sao rounds, dummy work by level.
